Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
NASA/George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) has a requirement to extend the contract period of performance for 3 months from April 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026. An additional 1-month option period is also planned for July 1, 2026 through 31 July 2026.
NASA/MSFC intends to issue a sole source contract modification to acquire the services from Element 84, Inc. under the existing contract 80MSFC23CA017 using other than full and open competition as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
Element 84 will continue to use its subject matter expertise to provide support needed to design a user interface for new deployments of the VEDA dashboard for NASA’s Earth Science Division. This additional scope of work builds upon Element 84’s highly specialized expertise and current contract requirement to develop cloud native tools and services such that dynamic visualization and exploration of science data can be scaled.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
