Quick Summary
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), under the Department of Homeland Security, has issued an Unrestricted Request for Proposal (RFP) for Checkpoint Screening Equipment Deployment Services (SEDS II). This opportunity, solicitation number 70T04026R7672N005, seeks a contractor to manage the full lifecycle of screening equipment at security checkpoints nationwide and potentially overseas. The selected contractor will provide comprehensive services including on-site coordination, surveys, design support, site preparation, electrical installation, logistics (shipping, rigging), installation, relocation, removal, decommissioning, testing, and site restoration. This covers a wide array of screening technologies such as Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT), Walk Through Metal Detectors (WTMD), AT X-ray, Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), Bottled Liquid Scanners (BLS), Computed Tomography (CT) X-ray, Credential Authorization Technology (CAT), and Chemical Analysis Devices (CAD). Significant anticipated work includes replacing or upgrading approximately 2200 ATs, 1000 AITs, 5000 ETDs, and 1600 BLS systems over the next 5-6 years. The scope also mandates robust program management, resource management, risk management, quality control, and site lead support.
