• Quality Assurance: Compliance with Higher-Level Contract Quality Requirement MIL-I-45208 and maintenance of an inspection system acceptable to the Government. Quality requirements are detailed in the IRPOD.
• Packaging: Specific cleanliness controls (e.g., MIL-STD-767, MIL-STD-2041, Refueling Clean, Reactor Plant Clean) and packaging requirements per MIL-PRF-23199 and MIL-DTL-24466. MIL-STD 2073 packaging applies. Fire retardant packaging is no longer required.
• Material Composition: Mercury or mercury-containing compounds shall not be intentionally added or come into direct contact with hardware.
• Deliverables: A Certificate of Compliance (DI-MISC-81356) must be submitted at the time of material delivery for each unique combination of contract/purchase order number, National Stock Number, and item nomenclature.

Important Notes for Bidders

• Document Distribution: Drawings, specifications, or related technical documents cited in the IRPOD are subject to special export controls and may be "NOT RELEASABLE TO FOREIGN NATIONALS (NOFORN)." Requests for "OFFICIAL USE ONLY" and "NOFORN" documents require certification of "need-to-know" from the PCO (pre-award) or DCMA (post-award).
• Waivers/Deviations: Requests for delivery date extensions or waivers/deviations from technical requirements must be submitted in advance with a detailed explanation, justification, and an offer of consideration. Technical data is required for proposed alternate items.
