Scope of Work
This requirement is for seats for a 6 x 6 x 6 inch Ball Valve, to be manufactured in accordance with Newport News Drawing 2285-298 piece 30, with specific amplifications and modifications. The material required is MC903 (Type 6 cast nylon) or an approved equal, meeting stringent chemical and mechanical analysis properties including melting point, viscosity, specific gravity, dimensional change, tensile impact, tensile yield stress, compressive strength, water absorption, and Rockwell "M" hardness.
Key requirements include:
- Visual inspection and seat stack height measurement.
- Strict configuration control, including procedures for waivers/deviations and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
- Components must be mercury-free.
- A Certificate of Compliance is required for all Special Emphasis Material.
- Quality Assurance must adhere to ISO-9001, ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025, or MIL-I-45208, with Government Quality Assurance at the source.

Additional Notes
This requirement is pursuant to Emergency Acquisition Flexibilities (EAF). The resultant award will be issued bilaterally, requiring contractor acceptance. The contract will be DO certified for national defense under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS). Offerors must request access to drawings on SAM.gov and then email the POC. Certification data must be submitted to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for review and acceptance via WAWF (Wide Area Work Flow) prior to each shipment, with specific WAWF codes and email notifications required. Data Item A001 (Inspection and Test Plan) may be waived if already on file.
