Cranston, RI, and meet specific physical and mechanical properties (e.g., Hardness, Specific Gravity, Tensile Strength). Requirements include visual inspection, seat stack height measurement, and adherence to configuration control processes for waivers, deviations, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs). The components must be mercury-free.
Key Requirements
- Quality System: Contractors must maintain a quality system compliant with ISO-9001, amplified by ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 (or MIL-I-45208 with MIL-STD-45662).
- Traceability & Certification: Full traceability from raw material to certification test reports is mandatory. Seats must be permanently marked per MIL-STD-792 Type I or IX (except Teflon seats). Material certification test reports for each heat/lot/batch are required.
- Government Quality Assurance: Government Source Inspection (GSI) will be performed at the contractor's facility by a DCMA QAR.
- Data Submission: Certification data must be submitted via Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (Ship to N50286, Inspect by N39040, Accept by N39040), with email notification to PORT_PTNH_WAWF_Notification@navy.mil. No material is to be shipped prior to acceptance.
