Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To remove and install new ceiling grid and tiles in specified areas of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Sector Charleston barracks building.

• Removal of existing ceiling grid and tiles.

• Installation of new ceiling grid and tiles in the following areas:

  • Room 102 (approx. 201 sqft)
  • Room 106 (approx. 157 sqft)
  • Wardroom area (approx. 800 sqft)
  • Galley serving line (approx. 112 sqft)
  • Messdeck area (approx. 1000 sqft)

• Re-installation of all fixtures associated with the ceiling (e.g., smoke/heat detectors, lights, sprinkler heads, speakers).

• Preparation of areas for grid installation according to manufacturer specifications.

• New grid materials must be galvanized or aluminum, white in color, and match existing rooms/hallways.

• Tiles for Rooms 102 and Wardroom: 24"x24" mineral fiber, white, lightly textured surface, square edges, sound-absorbing, Class A fire-rated, resistant to sagging, staining, fading, mildew, mold, soil, and fire (e.g., Armstrong Model #607A or equivalent).

• Tiles for Galley, Messdeck, and Room 106: 24"x24" mineral fiber, white, fissured surface, square edges, resistant to fire, mildew, mold, sagging, and soil (e.g., Armstrong Model #23673 or equivalent).

• Contractor must isolate installation areas and perform work according to manufacturer's instructions.

• Contractor must ensure product suitability and performance.

• New grid and tiles shall be installed as soon as practicable.

• Contractor shall provide a minimum of 5% attic stock of new tiles for future replacement/patching.

• Contractor shall provide manufacturer's maintenance materials, information, and guidelines.

• Contractor shall provide a detailed electronic list of all materials and quantities used.

• Location: United States Coast Guard Sector Charleston, 196 Tradd St, Charleston, SC 29401.

• Performance Period: 30 calendar days.

• Normal Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, unless otherwise approved to minimize disruption.

• Site visit is mandatory for bidders to verify existing conditions and scope.

• Contractor must provide qualified personnel with a minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial false ceiling systems installation.

• Contractor is responsible for site safety, environmental compliance, cleanup, and disposal of materials.

• Contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.

• A minimum twenty-year commercial wear warranty is required, in addition to a 12-month warranty for all parts and labor from project completion/acceptance.

• Submittals required include: roster of personnel, project schedule, manufacturer's installation instructions, attic stock, maintenance materials, hazardous waste documentation, warranties, product data, and operation and maintenance manuals.

This solicitation is for the removal and installation of ceiling grid and tiles in two office spaces, a wardroom area, the galley serving line, and the messdeck area within the barracks building at USCG Sector Charleston. The work is for construction, alteration, or repair.
