Quick Summary
The Department of War (DoW) is seeking innovative commercial solutions for its next-generation Secure Unclassified Network (SUNet) system. This "Call for Solutions" aims to modernize SUNet for rapid Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) experimentation, development, testing, and data labeling off the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN). This effort is associated with the Army Open Solicitation (AOS) W9128Z-25-S-A002. Solution Briefs are due February 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM ET.
Scope of Work
The objective is to develop and demonstrate a prototype SUNet system, with a minimum viable product (MVP) within 6 months and a full production system within 12 months of contract award. Key requirements include establishing at least seven types of segmented virtual enclaves to support diverse customers such as DoW, academia, industry, and foreign partners. These enclaves must support hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure, AI/ML development, data labeling in an IL5 environment, secure internet connectivity, interaction with edge systems, and remote communication. The solution must deploy mission-specific data and tools, enterprise tools, and data management capabilities, while implementing Zero Trust Architecture and meeting NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 requirements. Maximizing automation of DevSecOps practices and supporting remote access are also critical, along with the ability to host Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) data at IL5.
