First Article Test (FAT)
A First Article Test (FAT) is required, with the contractor delivering one unit within 120 calendar days of contract award. The estimated government testing cost is $10,000, borne by the contractor. FAT includes visual/dimensional inspection, initial and final leak tests, and an 18-inch free fall drop test. Waiver of FAT may be granted for offerors who have previously supplied identical items within three years from the same production location, provided they submit a certification and two price proposals (with and without FAT). All costs related to FAT submission and shipment are the contractor's responsibility.
Additional Notes
