First Article Test (FAT)

A First Article Test (FAT) is required. Offerors must deliver one unit of CAGE (05259) Part Number 841E001, Revision Latest, within 120 calendar days of contract award to designated test facilities at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ, and NSWC Indian Head Division, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The Government estimates the cost of its testing effort at $15,000.00, which will be added to offerors' prices for evaluation. The contractor is responsible for all FAT costs and responsibilities.

  • FAT Waiver: A waiver of FAT requirements may be granted for offerors who have previously furnished identical production articles accepted by the Government or OEM within three years, using the same production location, and can provide a certification. Offerors requesting a waiver must submit two prices: one with FAT and one without.

Quality Assurance

  • 100% Production Leak Test: Each container must undergo a leak test involving a free fall from 18 inches, followed by pressurization to 1.0 + 0.1 - 0 PSIG. Any pressure loss exceeding 0.05 PSIG over 30 minutes (adjusted for temperature/barometric pressure) will result in rejection.
  • Packaging: MIL-STD 2073 packaging applies.
