Evaluation & First Article Testing (FAT)
Award will involve a mandatory First Article Test (FAT), which includes dimensional, leak, and 18-inch free fall drop tests. The estimated cost for government FAT is $10,000, which will be added to offerors' prices for solicitation purposes. One FAT unit must be delivered within 120 calendar days to designated test facilities in Lakehurst, NJ, or Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. A waiver of FAT requirements may be granted for offerors with recent, identical production, provided they submit two prices (with and without FAT) and a certification. Pre-award surveys and post-award conferences may be required for new manufacturers.
