Quick Summary
The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) is conducting a Sources Sought to identify eligible and capable contractors for providing technical services to repair Ship's Service Turbine Generators (SSTGs) No. 1 and No. 2 on board Virginia-class submarines. This is a market research notice, not a solicitation for proposals. Capability statements are due by May 15, 2026.
Scope of Work
The required services encompass two primary areas:
- Hazardous Waste Control: Contractors must manage and dispose of all hazardous waste generated during the Job Order in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This includes documentation of waste generation, appropriate generator identification numbers, and efforts to minimize waste through reduction, neutralization, or recycling.
- SSTG Repair: This involves the disassembly, inspection, and repair of the No. 1 and No. 2 SSTG units, including bearings and rotors. The work requires Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical assistance for inspection, repair, tuning, and testing processes. Coordination with shipyard personnel for access, safety monitoring (including radiological monitoring), and waste disposal is also required.
