Scope of Work
The contractor will conduct studies to characterize ESKAPE+ group pathogens (Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter spp., and Escherichia coli) and select enteric bacterial pathogens (Campylobacter spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Vibrio cholerae) in Laos. Key tasks include:
- Obtaining all necessary regulatory and ethical approvals.
- Providing Bio-Safety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory certification.
- Collecting laboratory isolates from at least three hospital sites in Laos.
- Characterizing phenotypic and genotypic antimicrobial susceptibility profiles.
- Collecting demographic, laboratory, epidemiological, and clinical data.
- Determining minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and identifying antimicrobial resistance genes.
- Compiling raw data and storing it securely.
- Submitting quarterly technical progress reports, a final comprehensive annual report, and a draft manuscript for publication.
- Conducting up to two site visits and submitting trip reports.
- Arranging a kickoff meeting within two weeks of award and monthly meetings with minutes.
- Submitting monthly aggregate reports of study results and summary reports upon request.
- An optional task involves presenting at an international conference.
