Quick Summary

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), is seeking a partner to establish the Diagnostics/Medical Devices Hub for the BARDA Accelerator Network (BAN 2.0). This initiative aims to enhance global health security by accelerating the development and commercialization of health security solutions, particularly diagnostics and medical devices. Proposals are due by 12:00 PM ET on April 20, 2026.

Scope of Work

The selected Accelerator Hub will provide comprehensive wraparound acceleration services, including entrepreneurship education, business/commercialization expertise, and technical support to innovators. Key responsibilities include sourcing, reviewing, funding, and accelerating companies, performing product development, evaluation, and validation of medical countermeasures (MCMs). A critical component is building a rapid emergency response infrastructure for MCM development and validation during public health emergencies. The focus is on diagnostics and devices for pathogen-agnostic surveillance, detection, and diagnosis (especially point-of-care and at-home settings), and innovative medical devices for casualty care and respiratory health.
