Quick Summary
The U.S. AbilityOne Commission, through National Industries for the Blind (NIB), is conducting a Sources Sought to identify U.S. commercial manufacturers for co-brand agreements for label tapes and rolls. The primary goal is to expand product offerings and create employment opportunities for people who are blind or severely disabled. This is a market research effort, and responses are due June 24, 2026.
Scope of Need
NIB is seeking manufacturers of various label rolls, including specific sizes (e.g., 1-1/8” x 3-1/2” address, 4”x6” shipping, 1” x 2-18” barcode), in white, made from paper and polyester, with strong, residue-free adhesive and easy-peel backing. Products must be compatible with label printer NSN 7490-01-657-6126 and meet or exceed FAR, Federal Government standards, and industry performance specifications.
Manufacturers must:
- Possess a nationally or industry-known brand with significant sales.
- Demonstrate how they will help the designated nonprofit agency (NPA) expand its label roll line, increasing blind work hours while minimizing NPA costs.
- Be willing to deliver bulk materials to the NPA for on-time deliveries.
- Enter into a multi-year agreement for ongoing technical/production assistance and field support, enabling the NPA to convert, fill, label, assemble, and package products.
- Commit to marketing products to Government customers, with preference for those with dedicated Federal sales teams.
- Collaborate to ensure fair and reasonable pricing for end-users.
