Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This document outlines the work required for the repair, remediation, and treatment of structural and microbial damage caused by a steam pipe leak in Building 1154 at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. The primary goal is to resolve damage and address microbial issues using the Microbial Reduction and Remediation Process (MRRPS).

• General MRRPS: Utilize safe levels of gaseous hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) produced from ambient air to neutralize mold, viruses, germs, and bacteria. The technology must produce 0.02 ppm of non-aqueous or non-encapsulated hydrogen peroxide.

• Classroom (1,500 sq ft): Includes containment, air monitoring, installation of protective sheeting, negative air pressure, application of MRRPS, removal and drying of damaged ceiling tiles and insulation, sanitization of the classroom and contents, replacement of damaged ceiling tiles, steaming and cleaning of carpets, and removal/disposal of furniture.

• Area Envelop: Replace damaged sheetrock, treat sheetrock with MRRPS, reattach insulation to ductwork, and clean up debris in the mechanical room.

• Mechanical Room: Disassemble and reassemble a tandem boiler exhaust header (Centrotherm Brand polypropylene), including vertical riser stack and roof termination. This involves removing and reinstalling the header, supporting new piping, ensuring proper slope, and connecting components. It also includes removing and reinstalling sheet metal flashing on the boiler stack roof opening.

• The work will be completed in one phase.

• The contractor has 45 calendar days to complete the work.

• Work hours are typically between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, unless coordinated otherwise.

• Building Occupancy: The building will be occupied, but specific work areas will be vacant in coordination with the facility manager.

• Submittals: Requires submission of AF Form 3000 (Material Submittal Approval), including manufacturer's descriptive data, catalog numbers, diagrams, drawings, and certifications. Shop drawings and samples are also required.

• Contractor Maintenance: Daily cleanup of the work site, including construction areas, storage areas, and affected adjacent areas.

• Environmental: Compliance with environmental regulations regarding asbestos, lead-based paint, and hazardous materials. Reporting of environmental releases is required.

• Warranties: All workmanship, materials, and equipment are under warranty for at least one year.

• Security: Compliance with security requirements for unclassified contracts, including personnel identification, background checks, and physical security measures.

• Insurance: Required insurance includes Workmen's Compensation, Employers Liability, General Liability, and Automobile Liability.

• Fire Regulations: Compliance with NFPA 241, EM 385-1-1, and Maxwell AFB Instruction 32-2005.

• As-Built Drawings: Required to indicate conditions that differ from original.

• Final Cleaning: Execution of final cleaning prior to inspection, including cleaning surfaces, removing debris, and ensuring sanitary conditions.
