Quick Summary

The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) System Delta 810 (SYD 810) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for Space- and Ground-Based Environmental Monitoring (EM) Commercial Data and Services. This RFI seeks market intelligence from potential suppliers to inform future acquisition strategies and validate the feasibility of leveraging commercial solutions for Department of War (DoW) global weather and environmental monitoring needs. This is not a request for proposals. Responses are due by February 20, 2026, at 1700 PT.

Scope of Interest

The Government is seeking innovative commercial solutions across several key areas:

  • Technology Innovation: Advanced remote-sensing capabilities for terrestrial, atmospheric, and near-Earth phenomena, including compact/low-cost GEO/HEO imagers, modular LEO/GEO/HEO platforms, innovative EM instruments, space weather/atmospheric sensing, and AI/ML algorithms for data processing and enhancement.
  • Commercial Delivery and Pricing Models: Information on innovative business approaches for hardware and data services, such as turnkey/hosted payloads, spacecraft/ground networks, and Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) models.
  • Dual-Use Capabilities: Solutions with commercial applications or support for other government mission areas.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Existing or potential collaborations with international and academic partners.

Requested Information

Respondents should provide details on their applicable SBEM/GBSEM technologies and capabilities, including technical attributes, Technology Readiness Level (TRL), flight heritage, and operational assumptions. Information is also requested on system development/testing readiness, scalability, affordability, integration capabilities (e.g., data formats, cybersecurity), and cost frameworks. Vendors should provide Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) pricing for DaaS, custom engineering, hardware, and advanced features (e.g., AI/ML). Multiple responses are permitted if each represents a distinct capability offering.

Submission Details

  • Response Deadline: February 20, 2026, 1700 PT.
  • Questions Deadline: February 10, 2026, 1700 PT.
  • Format: Unclassified white paper, not exceeding seven single-spaced pages (12-point Times New Roman, 1-inch margins). The total email size limit is 5 MB.
  • Submission: Email to Maj David Kirkland (david.kirkland.9@spaceforce.mil) and the SYD 810 Org Box (SSC.SN.Industry_Day@spaceforce.mil) with the subject line "EM RFI – (Company Name)".
