Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The Department of the Army, specifically the US Army Capability Program Executive (CPE) Mission Autonomy, is conducting a Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) to understand the current landscape of industry robotic and autonomy solutions. The goal is to inform Army Senior Leaders, identify teaming opportunities, and develop a rapid acquisition strategy for robotic capabilities. This RFI is for planning purposes only; no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Responses are due by 5:00 PM EST on February 27, 2026.
Scope of Work
The RFI seeks information on robotic systems and autonomy solutions for three key problem statements:
- Engineer Capability Package (Breaching Operations): Solutions for autonomous/semi-autonomous breaching of complex obstacle belts (mines, wire, barriers) in contested and communication-denied environments. Requires self-navigation, obstacle detection/classification, and creating multiple breach lanes.
- Sustainment Capability Package (Autonomous Distribution): Systems for autonomous delivery of various supply classes (I, III, V, VIII, IX) across contested terrain, including self-navigation, dynamic route optimization, material handling, and integration into C2 networks. Casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) and deception capabilities are also of interest.
- Army Multi-Mission Platforms: Production-ready, reusable, and cost-effective robotic systems (categorized by weight: Small, Medium, Large, Extra-Large) to enhance survivability, lethality, and sustainment across Army ground formations.

Submission & Evaluation
Responses are for planning purposes only and will not result in a contract award. The USG intends to obtain prototypes and ancillary equipment for limited operational assessments. Submissions should be in MS Word or PDF format, limited to 20 pages per solution, and sent to submissions@namconsortium.org with the subject "Robotic Ground Combat Systems RFI". Proprietary information must be clearly marked. The government may use AI tools to assist in the analysis of RFI submissions.
Additional Notes
This RFI is not a solicitation for proposals. Not responding does not preclude participation in future solicitations. Questions should be directed to questions@namconsortium.org. The primary point of contact is Alessandro V. Padro (alessandro.v.padro.civ@army.mil).
