Scope of Work
The contractor will provide and install a new spin test machine capable of performing burst and low cycle fatigue tests. Key requirements include:
- Spin Machine: Must accommodate test articles up to 5 inches in diameter, 12 inches axial height, 6 lbs rotor weight, and a maximum speed of 60,000 rpm.
- Spin Chamber: A 500mm chamber (18in x 18in) with a minimum 15 bar pressure rating, a 200kg O-ring sealed lid, and a 75mm thick, 100 KSI tensile alloy steel containment chamber.
- Mechanical Drive: A 60,000 rpm system with a 20 kW air-cooled AC motor and a 6.5:1 ratio speed increaser.
- Auxiliary Equipment: Includes a vacuum pump (5-minute pump down to 1 Torr), a lubrication system, and associated electrical components.
- Installation & Training: Secure the machine to the floor, connect power, provide initial startup support, and conduct two days of on-site training for four personnel.
