Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide and install a new spin test machine for performing burst and low cycle fatigue tests.

• Spin Machine Capabilities: Must accommodate test articles with a maximum diameter of 5 inches, maximum axial height of 12 inches, maximum rotor weight of 6 lbs, and a maximum speed requirement of 60,000 rpm at ambient temperature.
• Spin Chamber: Requires a 500mm spin chamber with specific dimensions (18in x 18in), pressure rating (minimum 15 bar), lid specifications (200 kg, O-ring seal), and containment chamber construction (500 mm x 500 mm ID, 75mm thick 100 KSI tensile alloy steel).
• Mechanical Drive: A 60,000 rpm mechanical drive is needed, including a 20 kW air-cooled AC motor (max 10,000 rpm), a 6.5:1 ratio speed increaser, and a 5/16-inch diameter spindle with a 450kg capacity.

• Auxiliary Equipment: Requires a vacuum pump (5-minute pump down to 1 Torr), a lubrication system, and associated disconnects, starters, and circuit breakers.
• Lid & Loading: A lid rotation system (90° rotation) and a hand-operated chain-driven loading station are specified.
• Installation: The contractor must secure the machine to the floor and connect power to existing building power.
• Support & Training: Initial startup support, a minimum of two days of on-site training for four personnel, and at least one set of operation and maintenance manuals (CDRL A002) are required.
