Scope of Work

NIST requires a full range of services to produce and maintain SRD 31. Key services include:

• Scientific Literature Searching: Bimonthly searches of primary scientific literature (150–250 new sources annually).
• Critical Scientific Evaluation & PED Figure Development: Providing scientific evaluations and commentaries for selected manuscripts (70–140 annually).
• Editorial Review: Ensuring compliance with NIST Guidelines for PED Figures (250–350 annually).
• Graphics Digitization & Editing: Digitizing phase diagrams into interactive graphics and uploading to the PED Content Management System (CMS) (30–50 diagrams monthly).
• Workflow Management & Production Coordination: Managing the entire PED workflow, from manuscript identification to publication (15–30 finalized PED Figures monthly).
• Software Development, Maintenance, & Customer Support: Maintaining and improving the PED CMS (Ubuntu Linux, Ruby, Nginx, SQLite, LaTeX environment), providing biannual PC product releases, and supporting the SRD 31 web-delivery system (Phase Online).
