This is a Sources Sought notice for informational purposes only, not a request for proposal. Responses are due by March 26, 2026.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for injection molded components that must meet specific technical criteria:
- Material: POLYETHERIMIDE UNFILLED (ULTEM 1000) in accordance with ASTM D5205.
- Color: Black, in accordance with SAE-AMS-STD-595 (17000's, 27000's, 37000's series).
- Quality: Free of cracks, splits, perforations, burrs, corrosion, and foreign matter. Cleaning methods must not be injurious or contaminate parts.
- Surface Finish: 32 Ra.
- Weight: 0.8 +/- 0.1 grains.
- Dimensions: Must meet strict drawing requirements.
- Production Capacity: Contractor must be able to produce 500,000 pieces per year and deliver at least 40,000 pieces per month for a minimum of two years.
- Pre-Delivery Requirement: Prior to delivery, the contractor must coordinate with DEVCOM Points of Contact to demonstrate technical requirements through Raw Material Inspections at the contractor's facility.
