- Material: Stem (piece 70) and Disc (piece 8) must be QQ-N-281, class A or B, or ASTM-B164, UNS N04400.
- Testing & Certification: Non-Destructive Tests are required for weld repair and production welds. Certifications are mandatory for specific parts and tests.
- Welding/Brazing: Must adhere to Navy standards S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278, 0900-LP-001-7000, or S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248.
