The contractor will manufacture and supply continuous thread studs, specifically 7/8 Inch, 5 Inches long, Grade 400 (QQ-N-281), Type IV, with 9 UNC Thread Series and 2A Class of Fit, conforming to MIL-DTL-1222 and other specified requirements. Key aspects include:
- Critical Material: Designated as Special Emphasis material for crucial shipboard systems.
- Traceability & Certification: Strict requirements for material traceability, chemical and mechanical analysis, and certification (DI-MISC-81020). Certification data must be submitted via WAWF to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (DODAAC N50286) for review and acceptance prior to shipment. No material is to be shipped prior to acceptance.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a quality system compliant with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208 as an alternate) and calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 (or MIL-STD-45662). Government Quality Assurance (GQA) at source is required.
- Inspection: Final inspection requires zero defects for lot acceptance. Material, traceability markings, and certification reports must be 100% inspected.
- Mercury-Free: Materials must be free of mercury and mercury-containing compounds.
- Configuration Control: Maintain total equipment baseline configuration and submit Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for Class I or II changes.
