The purpose of this effort is to have NGSC provide technical and logistical support for all configurations of the T-38 weapon systems, which will include the T-38A/B/C models.
Due to ongoing slips in the T-7A replacement aircraft schedule, the Government expects the retirement date to extend. To meet aircraft modification and life cycle sustainment mandates, an increased need for specialized engineering services is required to keep the fleet operating safely and effectively.
This acquisition is for performance of a highly specialized service that require the use of manufacturing processes, trade secrets, engineering data, historical databases and airframe specific test procedures critical to the maintenance of the T-38 airframe baseline.
Northrop Grumman holds exclusive property and trademark rights to engineering data, such as drawings, process specifications, engineering reports requiring development, and qualification for acceptance. As such, Northrop Grumman is the only firm capable of providing the supplies and services.
