Quick Summary
The Department of the Army, W07V ENDIST ST LOUIS (USACE Marine Design Center), is seeking proposals for the supply and delivery of 8 recessed shell bitts for a cargo barge. This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for Marine Hardware And Hull Items. The opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Proposals are due February 12, 2026.
Scope of Work
The contractor shall supply and deliver eight (8) recessed shell bitts, specifically Schoellhorn-Albrecht, Model: S1173. These bitts are intended for installation on a 300x80x10 cargo barge to facilitate safe and efficient attachment of dock lines. The recessed placement within the side-shell will ensure line attachment points are within reach of deck personnel from the dock, addressing the issue of existing deck kevels being unreachable due to barge freeboard. Structural analysis and fitment drawings for this specific make/model have been completed by the USACE Marine Design Center.
