This requirement is for comprehensive turf maintenance and groundskeeping services to maintain the dignity and aesthetic appeal of the national shrines. Key services include:
- Turf Maintenance: Fertilization, granular lime application, pre/post-emergent crabgrass control, post-emergent broadleaf weed control, aeration, and over-seeding.
- Mowing & Trimming: Weekly mowing and trimming of all turf areas, including around headstones and structures, with immediate removal of grass clippings.
- Debris Removal: Removal of all trash and debris during each mowing cycle.
- Edging: Power edging of walks, plazas, and roadway curbs twice annually (May and October), in addition to standard trim edging.
- Snow & Ice Removal: Removal of snow and treatment of ice on roadways, sidewalks, and entrances, with a maximum of six occurrences per year.
Performance Standards
Contractors must adhere to manufacturer specifications and all relevant federal, state, and local laws. A 90% success rate is required for weed elimination. Personnel must maintain a professional appearance and conduct, and work must not interfere with cemetery operations or services.

Special Requirements
