Quick Summary

The Department of the Army, W2SN ENDIST JAPAN, is soliciting proposals for the construction of a Theater Aircraft Corrosion Control Prep Hangar at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. This project, with an estimated magnitude of $250M - $500M, involves designing and building a comprehensive facility for aircraft corrosion treatment, repair, paint stripping, and repainting. The latest amendment, AM-0005, extended the proposal due date to March 5, 2026.

Project Scope

The scope includes the construction of a primary facility, site development, and supporting infrastructure. The facility will feature a single-bay paint booth, a single-bay prep/wash hangar, and dedicated support spaces for painting and sanding operations. This encompasses abrasive blasting rooms, drying areas, storage, restrooms, administrative areas, and mechanical rooms. Supporting infrastructure covers utilities, HVAC, fire protection, communications, pavement, access roads, fencing, apron, lighting, a retaining wall, and rerouting of a Petroleum Oil Line (POL). The facility must adhere to DoD, Air Force, and base design standards, and be capable of withstanding corrosive environments, wind loads, and seismic effects.
