Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC (BEA), Management & Operating Contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) owned Idaho National Laboratory (INL), is seeking an Expression of Interest (EOI) for comprehensive tree maintenance services. These services support INL operations at both in-town Idaho Falls facilities and the INL desert site. This EOI is the first step in identifying qualified vendors for a future solicitation. Responses are due June 19, 2026.

Scope of Work

The selected vendor will be responsible for a wide range of tree maintenance activities, including:

  • Annual structural pruning, canopy raising, and removal of dead or hazardous limbs.
  • Tree felling and removal of diseased, dying, or hazardous trees.
  • Stump grinding and backfilling.
  • Planting new trees, including staking and mulching.
  • Monitoring and treating trees for pests, fungi, and other health concerns, and applying fertilizers.
  • Providing 24/7 emergency tree response for hazardous limbs and storm damage.
  • Identifying and reporting nesting birds in accordance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
  • Coordinating all work with INL Facility Management and complying with all applicable INL safety requirements and federal/environmental regulations. All activities must be performed by an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist.
