Quick Summary

The General Services Administration (GSA), in partnership with the Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), is hosting a Two-Day Virtual Industry Event to expand and strengthen competition for major overseas construction projects. This event aims to grow OBO's U.S. contractor base and provide insights into working with the Bureau. The event takes place on April 13-14, 2026, via Zoom Webinar.

Event Details

  • Day One (Webinar): Monday, April 13, 2026, 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. EST
  • Day Two (Virtual Capabilities Conversations): Tuesday, April 14, 2026, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST
  • Platform: Zoom Webinar

Day One: Program Overview & Acquisition Strategy

Day One will feature remarks from the Under Secretary for Management and OBO Director, followed by detailed briefings:

  • OBO Program & Projects: Overview of program needs, upcoming projects, locations, types of contractors, and how contracts are managed in the field.
  • Bureau of Global Acquisitions (GA): Insights into OBO's acquisition strategy, procurement expectations, key bidding process aspects, and contractor qualification requirements.
  • Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS): Guidance on security clearances for firms, including domestic and overseas worker clearances, timelines, challenges, and preparation steps.
  • Q&A Session: Questions must be submitted during registration.

Day Two: Capabilities Conversations

Day Two offers potential partners a unique opportunity for 20-minute virtual Capabilities Conversations with subject-matter experts from OBO and GA. Separate meetings will be hosted by DS to address firm-specific clearance questions. Due to limited capacity, firms may register for only one Capabilities Conversation, and duplicate registrations will be canceled.

Registration & Participation

Interested participants must register using the provided links for Day One and Day Two. An email address for submitting firm capabilities statements will be sent one week before the event to registered participants. Additional resources are available on OBO's "Build with Us" page.
