Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide formal training in the monitoring of active volcanic processes and managing volcanic crises to fourteen (14) scientists from specific countries, aiming to reduce risks from volcanic events.

• Provide comprehensive logistical services for fourteen (14) foreign participants from Indonesia, Chile, Guatemala, Argentina, Democratic Republic of Congo, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Peru, Philippines, and Rwanda.

• Services include obtaining U.S. visas, making travel arrangements, and securing medical insurance for students.

• Provide food, housing, and transportation for students during the training course.

• Arrange for the return of students to their home countries upon completion of the course.

• Conduct an eight (8) week training course focused on volcano monitoring techniques and crisis management.

• Students must successfully travel to and from the U.S.

• Students must be fed, housed, and transported within the U.S. during the training period.

• Students will gain knowledge in monitoring active volcanic processes and managing volcanic crises.

• Students will return to their home countries with acquired knowledge.

• Period of Performance: June 6 through August 1, 2026 (eight weeks).

• Place of Performance: Hilo, Kilauea Volcano, and Mauna Loa Volcano in Hawaii; Vancouver and Mount St. Helens in Washington State.

• Key personnel must include volcano researchers and instructors with expertise in volcano monitoring and crisis management.
