Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for the manufacture, inspection, and testing of the Instrumentation and Control (I&C) subsystem for the ITER Upper Wide Angle Viewing System (UWAVS). The UWAVS aims to provide real-time, simultaneous visible and infrared images of the ITER divertor region for machine protection, plasma control, and physics measurements.

• Manufacturing, procurement, and delivery of UWAVS I&C components and software for four upper ports (2, 8, 11, 14).

• Fabrication, assembly, and testing to ensure compliance with requirements.

• Documentation related to review phases: Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR), First Article Test (FAI), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Delivery Readiness Review (DRR), and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) support.

• I&C control scope includes Master Cubicle, Support Cubicles, and Camera Cubicles.

• Out of Scope: Integration into the ITER facility, procurement of certain in-vessel and ex-vessel components (unless specified), and cables outside of cubicle assemblies.

• The contract begins at award and continues to Site Acceptance and integration into the Diagnostic Shield Module (DSM) by the port integrator.

• Specific timelines and milestones are detailed in Table 5 and Figure 8, outlining Phase 1 (Preparation for Manufacturing) and Phase 2 (Manufacturing).

• Phased Implementation: Divided into Phase 1 (Preparation for Manufacturing) and Phase 2 (Manufacturing).

• Documentation: Extensive documentation is required, including System Requirements Specification (SRS), System Design Specification (SDS), Software Architecture and Design Description (SADD), System Manufacturing Specification (SMS), Quality Plan, Inspection Plans, and test reports.

• Testing: Includes First Article Inspection (FAI), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and System Level Testing.

• Quality Assurance: A robust Quality Assurance Program is required, including inspections, audits, and supplier responsibility for conformance.

• Reporting: Weekly and monthly progress reports, invoicing, and status updates are required.

• Warranty: A basic warranty covers the period after successful site acceptance testing, up to two years.
