Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for conducting pre-placement condition surveys and pumping/placing approximately 1,250,000 cubic yards of sand. Sand will be sourced from two borrow areas: Corson’s Inlet and L1 (approximately three miles offshore of Sea Isle City). Specific placement areas include:
- South Ocean City: 350,000 CY (45th-59th Streets)
- Upper Township/Strathmere: 450,000 CY (Corson’s Inlet to Jasper Rd.)
- Central Sea Isle City: 250,000 CY (29th-53rd Streets)
- South Sea Isle City: 200,000 CY (73rd St to Townsends Inlet)
Options may include placing up to an additional 1,000,000 cubic yards of sand from the same offshore borrow areas to achieve the full project design template, with additional areas in southern Upper Township and northern Sea Isle City. Trucking-in sand is not permitted. Additional work includes dune repair, sand fence placement, dune grass planting, and dune crossover repair. Construction is to be completed no later than July 1, 2026.
