Scope of Work
This requirement covers extensive dry docking, maintenance, repair, and inspection services for the 1977-built survey vessel, RANDY S. CUMMINGS (58'4" long). Key tasks include:
- Dry Docking & Hull Services: Pre/post sea trials, docking, pressure washing, sonic survey, cleaning, antifouling paint, zinc anode renewal, inspection/replacement of sea water valves, shafts, stern/strut bearings, rudder/stock stuffing boxes, and propellers.
- Above Waterline & Deck Work: Blasting, lettering, fendering, removal of crane/capstans, aft control station repairs, blasting/painting, hatch/scuttle/locker repairs, new cargo davit, cabin lock replacement, bow boarding redesign, and new transducer installation.
- Mechanical & Electrical Systems: Maintenance and tune-ups for main engines (Cummins X15-M), Twin Disc transmissions, and Onan generator. Steering system overhaul with added redundancy, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, interior lighting, bilge pump replacement, tank monitoring systems, fuel tank services, life raft/ring installation, navigation lights, and extensive electronic repairs/upgrades (e.g., window de-frosting, switch panel construction, isolation transformer, 24V/AC systems troubleshooting, shore power plug relocation).
- Other: Installation of up to 15,000 lbs of ballast and conducting an incline experiment. All services are to be performed on a Firm Fixed Price basis at the contractor's facilities, with delivery to the Bay Model Visitor Center, Sausalito, CA.
