Quick Summary
The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Dean of Faculty Department of Biology (DFBI) is conducting a Sources Sought to identify potential sources for 50 wearable smart ring performance monitoring devices. These devices will be used by Cadets to measure biometric data, human performance, and sleep quality/quantity. This is for information and planning purposes only; it is not a Request for Quotation. Responses are due by April 16, 2026.
Scope of Work
USAFA requires 50 wearable smart rings capable of accommodating various ring sizes (6-15). The devices must measure:
- Blood oxygen levels
- Heart rate and heart rate variability
- Body temperature variations
- Movement and activity
- Respiratory rates
- Quantity and quality of sleep
Data collected must show a minimum of 75% agreement with a polysomnography sleep lab test. Devices require a rechargeable battery lasting a minimum of 5 days and access to all necessary inherent software for the lifetime of the ring, without AI features. Software should be easily transferable. An enterprise software solution is also required to collect and analyze data from all devices into a single instance, allowing easy transfer of devices between users for research studies.
