Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To renew select perimeter fencing and gates at the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Base Charleston, located at 196 Tradd St, Charleston, SC 29401.

• Furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and materials for the renewal of chain link fencing and gates.

• Removal and disposal of 335 linear feet (LF) of damaged chain link fencing.

• Furnish and install 335 LF of new 7-foot-high commercial-grade chain link fence with two 24-foot double drive (DD) gates and one 20-foot DD gate in the exact location of the old fencing.

• Fence installation includes top rail, bottom tension wire, barbwire, and bracing at terminals.

• Specific materials for the fence include 3" terminal posts, 2 1/2" line posts, 1 5/8" top rail, 12.5-gauge barbwire, and 7-gauge bottom tension wire.

• Furnish and install 335 LF of new 7-foot-high bottom locking slats (green) for the fence.

• The contractor must ensure steps are taken to minimize dust and debris.

• All work must be performed by manufacturer's approved installers.

• The contractor must assure the product is appropriate for the application and environment and is merchantable for service.

• Maintenance materials, information, and guidelines for the product after installation must be provided.

• The work is located at U.S. Coast Guard Base Charleston, 196 Tradd St, Charleston, SC 29401.

• The total contract performance period is 10 calendar days.

• Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, unless otherwise approved.

• Bidders are responsible for visiting the site to field verify existing conditions and determine the scope of work.

• The installer must have a minimum of 5 years of commercial fence installation experience.

• The contractor is responsible for obtaining appropriate calculations for the spaces.

• Coordinate all staging and laydown areas with the Coast Guard prior to work starting.

• The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.

• The contractor is responsible for work site safety and must implement a safety program.

• All materials and equipment must be removed from Government property upon completion.

• The contractor must provide a written warranty for all parts and labor for 12 months from the date of project completion/USCG acceptance.

• The contractor shall provide training to unit personnel in the operation of the equipment.
