Statement of Work (SOW)

To overhaul the current hazardous waste storage facility at Coast Guard Station Indian River Inlet, including cleaning, removal of hazardous material, and renewal of lighting, ventilation, and doors, to comply with all applicable policies and regulations.

• Hazardous Material Removal: Remove all hazardous material from the existing hazardous waste building and boat maintenance facility. This includes washing and removing residue from containers, and temporary storage in an approved location.

• Building Cleaning & Decontamination: Clean all interior and exterior surfaces of the hazardous waste building using industrial degreasers, ensuring no contamination escapes. Wash and retain residue from the exterior Northwest corner and properly dispose of cleaning solvents and hazardous waste.

• Floor Renovation: After cleaning and drying, sand the floor to remove the top 1/64 inch and apply an oil-resistant floor epoxy to the floor and up the walls to a minimum height of 58 inches.

• Electrical & Lighting Upgrades: Remove existing lighting fixtures, conduit, wiring, and junction boxes. Install new intrinsically safe LED lighting fixtures, conduit, wiring, and switches, verifying compliance with hazardous environment criteria.

• Ventilation System: Fabricate and install a new 316 stainless steel wall-mounted fixture for a new intrinsically safe ventilation fan. Install the fan, ducting, screen guard, and necessary wiring.

• Door Replacement: Remove and reinstall two new entrance doors.

• Reinstallation & Testing: Reinstall all existing interferences and replace all removed hazardous material back into the building. Conduct a full system check of all newly installed components.

• Disposal: Contractor shall arrange for the recycling/disposal of all components no longer being used and all hazardous materials (oily water, used oil, solvents, etc.) in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
