Scope of Work
The contractor (KTR) will be responsible for renewing necessary portions of the cargo hold hatch cofferdam drain piping located in compartment 2-30-0-AA, Cargo Hold. Key tasks include:
- Cropping out and removing existing 3" & 2" diameter piping and funnel pieces.
- Fabricating and installing new piping arrangements, gaskets, and seals according to Coast Guard Drawing 225–WLB–528–001, REV K.
- Furnishing and installing new pipe hangers as needed.
- Labeling affected piping with service name, destination, and flow direction.
- Performing a leak test using system fluid at normal operating pressure to ensure zero visible leakage.
- Preparing and coating all new and disturbed surfaces to match existing adjacent surfaces (SFLC Std Spec 6310).
- Installing new insulation materials over exposed pipe surfaces per ASTM F683 Tables.
Performance Requirements
The KTR must adhere to SFLC Std Spec 0000 for protective measures, interference handling, and contamination prevention. All removed fluids must be disposed of according to Federal, state, and local regulations, with no draining into spaces, bilges, or exterior locations. A means of sealing open piping during work is required.
Period & Place of Performance
The USCGC ALDER will be available for this work during two periods: May 31 - June 15, 2026, and July 04 - July 25, 2026. The work will take place at Guard Sector San Francisco, 1 Yerba Buena Island, San Francisco, CA 94130.
Special Requirements
The KTR must provide a Marine Chemist and a competent person for hot work certification, notify the USCGC ALDER POC of planned hot work, and provide all necessary fire watches. Personnel require TWIC identification numbers (preferred) or State Issued Identification. Compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations is mandatory.
