Scope of Work

The contractor will be responsible for:

  • Renewing the AC condenser and compressor for the #1B circuit.
  • Flushing the refrigerant side of the #1B circuit to remove contamination.
  • Renewing or overhauling specific components on the refrigerant side of the #1B circuit as detailed in the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Restoring the #1B AC plant to full service.
  • Performing borescope inspections and post-work leak tests for both #1A and #1B AC circuits.
  • Ensuring two other AC compressors from other plants remain operational throughout the project. The work will be performed in the Air Conditioning Equipment Room, Compartment 3-22-0-Q.

Key Requirements & Deliverables

  • Personnel: Provide qualified AC Tech Rep familiar with York 130-Ton HFC-134A AC plants, and EPA Technician Certification (Type IV) for refrigerant handling.
  • Safety: Provide fire watch personnel and equipment, submit a Fire Prevention Plan, and comply with SFLC Std Spec 5550.
  • Technical Standards: Adhere to SFLC Std Spec 0000 (General Requirements) and SFLC Std Spec 0740 (Welding and Allied Processes).
  • Planning: Submit a written Repair Plan to the Port Engineer 24 hours before work.
  • Logistics: Handle interferences, rigging, and ensure proper refrigerant evacuation and disposal.
  • Base Access: All personnel must be enrolled in RAPID Gate for access to Base Honolulu.
