USCGC VENTUROUS BOILER REPLACEMENT

Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This document outlines the requirements for the Contractor to renew the ship's port (NR2) service boiler assembly, including its shell, tubes, associated valves, and burner assembly, located in the Engine Room of the USCGC VENTUROUS.

• Renewal of Boiler Assembly: Replace the existing boiler assembly with a Government-furnished Way-Wolff steam boiler, Model 5848-14E.

• Tasks: Includes disconnecting piping, insulation, and accessories; removing and disposing of the old boiler; preparing and coating foundation surfaces; installing the new boiler and accessories; fabricating and installing new flanges; and performing hydrostatic testing.

• Associated Components: Renewal of boiler shell insulation, outer sheet metal wrap, exhaust ductwork, disturbed piping insulation, thermal blankets, gaskets, fasteners, and specific valves (gate, solenoid, check).

• Location: USCGC VENTUROUS (WMEC-625), 600 8th Ave. SE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.

• Period of Performance: February 23, 2026, to March 18, 2026.

• Government-Furnished Property: A Way-Wolff boiler assembly will be provided.

• References: Adherence to specific Coast Guard drawings, publications (TP 2188), SFLC Standard Specifications, and ASTM standards is required.

• Interferences: Contractor must manage known interferences including fuel oil piping, steam piping, condensate piping, insulation, metal sheathing, handrails, stanchions, deck frames, wiring brackets, ducting, transformers, demineralizers, system fluids, and bilge piping.

• Fluid Handling: Oily water must be removed for gas-freeing, and all bilge surfaces in the Engine Room must be cleaned. All removed fluids must be disposed of according to regulations.

• Protective Measures: Contractor must furnish and install all protective measures.

• Structural Integrity: Maintain existing structural integrity during repairs, using temporary supports if necessary, subject to COR approval.

• Testing: Hydrostatic testing of the new boiler and associated piping is required in the presence of a Coast Guard Inspector.

• Operational Test: Post-repair, the Contractor must thoroughly test and demonstrate the new boiler system, associated valves, and burners.

• Labeling: Install a nameplate label onto valves and the pressure vessel.

• Ship Check Encouraged: Bidders are strongly encouraged to perform a ship check due to interferences and limited accessibility.
