Quick Summary

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), specifically the FARM PRODUCTION AND CONSERVATION BUSINESS CENTER, intends to award a 5-year lease renewal for office space in Albany, Kentucky. While the government intends to sole source a renewal, it is also considering alternative space if economically advantageous. This is a Sources Sought notice to identify potential alternative solutions. Expressions of Interest are due by April 12, 2026.

Scope of Work

The requirement is for approximately 2,901 ABOA square feet (up to 3,025 RSF) of contiguous office space on one floor within the Albany, KY city limits. The space must include 1 reserved and 10 non-reserved parking spaces. The lease term is for 5 years with no firm term and 120-day termination rights. Occupancy is required by March 1, 2026. Subleases are not acceptable.

Evaluation

The Government will consider alternative space if it is economically advantageous, taking into account factors such as the availability of suitable space, relocation costs (physical move, tenant improvements, telecommunications, agency downtime), and compliance with fire safety, accessibility (ABAAS), seismic, and sustainability standards. A fully serviced lease is required, and offered space must not be in the 1-percent-annual change flood plain. Entities must also familiarize themselves with Section 889 of the FY19 NDAA.

Submission Requirements

Expressions of Interest must include: building name/address, location of space, layout drawings/pictures (with dimensions), RSF/ABOA, date of availability, owner authorization letter (if not owner), parking details, photos, condition of building systems, and confirmation of compliance with ABAAS, Seismic, Fire Protection, and NEPA standards (if applicable). Entities not currently registered in SAM.gov are advised to begin the process.
