- Applying the Single Tree Selection method for marking, focusing on removing high-risk, defective, or mature trees while maintaining optimum growing stock.
- Utilizing the Sample Tree Cruising Method (STR) for volume estimation, requiring GPS locations of all sample trees to be provided digitally.
- Adherence to the Ottawa National Forest's Timber Theft Prevention Plan (TTPP), including paint reconciliation.
- Specific silvicultural prescriptions include targeting a residual basal area of 70-80 Ft²/AC, achieving 3,000 seedlings per acre of native species, and managing specific tree species (e.g., retaining white pine, hemlock, cedar; removing ironwood, spruce, balsam).
- Salvage operations for conifer (spruce) and hardwood volumes are specified.
- Areas to exclude from marking include poorly drained pockets, steep slopes, and shallow bedrock.
