Quick Summary
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has issued a Special Notice seeking Statements of Interest for the Roadway Safety Innovation Expo (Safety Expo). This event will transform USDOT Headquarters in Washington, DC, into an immersive experience to showcase cutting-edge roadway safety technologies and innovations. Entities are invited to submit proposals to demonstrate their innovative products, solutions, and tools. For priority consideration, Statements of Interest are due by June 12, 2026, at 5:00 PM ET.
Purpose & Scope
The Safety Expo aims to build broad public awareness of roadway safety technologies and innovations among leaders from state and local transportation agencies, Members of Congress, industry stakeholders, safety advocates, students, and media. USDOT is seeking hands-on interactive demonstrations and simulators across 28 areas of interest related to improving roadway safety. Examples of possible demonstrations are provided in the attached Special Notice.
Submission Details
Interested entities must submit a Statement of Interest detailing their proposed demonstration, including required information and supporting imagery, as outlined in the attached Special Notice. Submissions for priority consideration must be received by June 12, 2026, 5:00 PM ET, via email to usdot-safety-expo@dot.gov with the subject "Statement of Interest for USDOT Safety Expo." Questions regarding this Special Notice are due by June 8, 2026, 5:00 PM ET, to the same email address.
Key Considerations
No federal funding is available for this opportunity. Participation in the showcase and demonstration is entirely at the expense of the exhibiting entity. Exhibitors are solely responsible for all costs associated with transportation, drayage, assembly, and breakdown of equipment and display materials. Submissions will undergo a "Review and Selection Process" based on defined "Evaluation Criteria" to accommodate a limited number of demonstrations.
