• Operating Season: Year-round, with restrictions between October 15th and May 15th due to wet weather and potential erosion control needs. Work may be suspended at the discretion of the Forest Service. Limited operating periods may apply due to wildlife protection measures.

• Equipment: All equipment must meet Occupational Safety and Health Act requirements, have flashing lights/rotary beacons, standard slow-moving vehicle emblems, and headlights on. Backup warning devices are required for self-propelled equipment over 8,000 lbs. Equipment not in use must be parked off the traveled way.

• Equipment Cleaning: All vehicles and equipment must be cleaned before entering the Gasquet Ranger District and prior to re-entry if leaving and returning to infested areas, unless waived in writing. Cleaning methods include steam cleaning or high-pressure water spray.

• Standard Specifications: The project conforms to the "Standard Specifications For Construction Of Roads And Bridges On Federal Highway Projects (FP-14)" and applicable supplemental specifications.

• Submittals: Required submittals include a Construction Schedule, Safety Plan, Traffic Control Plan, and Production Certification for Aggregate, all with a 14-day government review period.

• Work Hours: Limited to non-holiday weekdays, Monday-Friday, 0700-1900. Work site must be clear by noon the Friday before a Monday holiday.

• Environmental: Contractor is responsible for sediment control devices, proper disposal of all trash and debris off Forest lands, and preventing the introduction of invasive weeds. Minimizing mechanical activity during rainy periods is required.

• Heritage/Archeology: In case of discovery of cultural resources or human remains, work must cease, and the Forest Heritage Program Manager or County Coroner must be notified immediately.

• Road Use: Contractor may use Forest Service Roads, including Fox Ridge Road, but is responsible for any damage caused by their operations. Overload/over-width permits may be required.

• Utilities: Potable water and sanitary facilities are not available. Temporary electrical power systems must comply with applicable codes. The contractor is responsible for all arrangements and costs associated with temporary power.

• Campground Use: Occupancy of developed recreation sites is prohibited, except for one camp unit for a watchman. A temporary fence may be erected for a storage site but must be removed, and the site restored prior to acceptance.
