- Minimum of 40 hours of annual tactical and operational medicine training, adhering to TCCC/TECC guidelines and NREMT certifications.
- Off-line medical direction and program administration (minimum 100 hours/year).
- Provision of two (2) Emergency Medicine Physicians on-site for SOG Selection courses for medical pre-screening.
- Expert physician consultation for the SOG Medic electronic patient care record system.
- Development, maintenance, and oversight of operational medical treatment protocols.
- Operation of a dedicated, hospital-based medical communications center staffed 24/7.
- Provision of 24/7 emergency medicine physician consultation for SOG Medics.
- Annual 40-hour EMT refresher class and clinical training at a Level 1 trauma center academic medical center.
- Provision of deployable Emergency Medicine Physicians for remote or high-threat operations and training events.
Key Requirements & Special Qualifications
This opportunity has stringent contractor and personnel requirements:
- Contractor: Must be a university-affiliated academic medical center with a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center, stroke center, cardiac intervention center, eye trauma center, and EMS base station.
- Experience: Demonstrated longitudinal track record in tactical medicine under a formal Special Operations program, with a minimum of twenty (20) years of formal documented work experience in tactical emergency medicine focusing on law enforcement support.
- Research/Training: Recent research publication (previous 24 months) specific to tactical medicine and active engagement in subspecialty training of emergency physicians in tactical medicine through advanced fellowship programs.
- Location: Must be located within 50 miles of SOG's Washington, DC or Tomball, TX locations.
- Medical Director (Key Personnel): Requires a valid state medical license, DEA license, Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), active clinical practice, minimum 10 years of medical director experience overseeing a federal law enforcement tactical medicine program, peer-reviewed publications, national leadership experience in tactical medical organizations, and a current Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
