Justification for Sole Source
This procurement is a sole source to JA Moody LLC due to proprietary rights held by Metrex Valve Corp. for the required valve drawings. The specific make/model is necessary for Navy standardization initiatives and compatibility with existing equipment on vessels like USNS APALACHICOLA and USNS POINT LOMA. The Metrex Valve is an exact replacement for the USNS CODY, ensuring form, fit, and function. Metrex Valve Corp. is identified as the only source with the necessary manufacturing, technical information, specialized tools, expertise, and certifications required for this sophisticated equipment.
