Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has issued a Special Notice announcing the rescheduling of its Rapid Experimentation of Prototyping in Learning Environments (REPTILE 26-1) event, focused on Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UxS). The event is moved from June 2026 to September 2026. USSOCOM will release a follow-on Request for Information (RFI) with updated details in June/July 2026.
Purpose & Scope
This RFI series seeks technology experimentation candidates from Research and Development (R&D) organizations, private industry, and academia. The goal is to explore emerging technologies that can provide solutions for future Special Operations Forces (SOF) capabilities, specifically in Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UxS) and friendly advanced Unmanned Systems (UxS) operations. The primary problem statement involves defeating swarms of up to 100x Group 1-2 autonomous drones in denied areas, day/night conditions.
Key Technology Areas of Interest
- C-UxS Technologies: Detection, tracking, identification, classification, and neutralization of UxS and swarms.
- Modular, Low SWaP-CUxS & Rapidly Produced Systems.
- Unmanned and Autonomous Systems (UAS/UxS): EM Hardening, Swarming/Collaborative Autonomy, Enhanced Survivability, Multi-Modal/Multi-Domain capabilities, Heterogeneous Teaming, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) & AI/Sensor Integration.
- Blue Force Awareness Technology.
Event Details
The REPTILE 26 event will now take place in September 2026 in Gulfport, MS. USSOCOM will provide venues, supporting infrastructure, and assessment personnel at no cost to invited respondents. Respondents are responsible for their own submission costs, travel, technology experiments, and associated expenses. This is not a solicitation for proposals or contracts.
Submission & Eligibility
A follow-on RFI with updated information and submission instructions is anticipated in June/July 2026. The previous RFI sought submissions via the Vulcan system (Scout Card) and preferred technologies with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 6 and above. Eligibility is open to R&D organizations, private industry, and academia, with ITAR/EAR compliance required. Respondents should not submit classified information.
Additional Notes
Participants invited to demonstrate technologies will be required to submit safety documentation, including a Deliberate Risk Assessment (DRA) worksheet (DD Form 2977), and may need to provide a Photography/Media Consent and Release form. Specific safety guidance is provided for systems containing lasers, energetic materials, or RF emitters.
