Qualification Details

Fit reasons
  • NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
  • Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
  • Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
  • Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps

Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.

Quick Summary

The U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for Rapid Experimentation of Prototyping in Learning Environments (REPTILE) 26-3, focusing on Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UxS). This RFI seeks technology experimentation candidates from R&D organizations, private industry, and academia for an event in Gulfport, MS in June 2026. The goal is to explore emerging technologies (TRL 6+) that can provide solutions for future SOF capabilities, specifically defeating drone swarms. Nomination packages are due by April 21, 2026, 12:00 Noon EDT.

Purpose & Scope

USSOCOM is conducting market research to identify and assess technologies for C-UxS and friendly advanced Unmanned Systems (UxS) operations. The primary challenge is to defeat a swarm of up to 100x Group 1-2 autonomous drones in denied areas, day and night. This RFI is not a solicitation for proposals or contracts, nor will the government pay for information submitted.

Key Areas of Interest

  • C-UxS Technologies: Detection, tracking, identification, classification, and neutralization of UxS and swarms.
  • System Characteristics: Modular, Low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) C-UxS & Rapidly Produced systems.
  • Defeat Capabilities: Novel defeat capabilities and low-collateral kinetic effects.
  • UxS Technologies: EM Hardening, Swarming/Collaborative Autonomy, multi-domain operations, Multi-Modal/Multi-Domain UxS capabilities.
  • Integration: UxS Human-Machine Interface (HMI) & AI/Sensor Integration, Blue Force Awareness Technology.
  • Maturity: Preference for materiel solutions at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 and above.

Eligibility & Requirements

This opportunity is open to R&D organizations, private industry, and academia. Respondents must comply with International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR) / Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Participants selected for the experimentation event will need to provide safety documentation, such as a Deliberate Risk Assessment (DD Form 2977), aligning with MIL-STD-882E, and specific data for systems involving lasers, energetic materials, or RF emitters. A Photography/Media Consent and Release form will also be required for demonstrations.

Submission & Evaluation

  • Nomination Deadline: April 21, 2026, 12:00 Noon EDT.
  • Submission Method: Electronically by creating a Scout Card in the Vulcan system (vulcan-sof.com) and completing a mandatory Electronic Supplemental Information form. Exact frequency information for any radio frequency emitting devices must be provided.
  • Selection Criteria: Based on the technology's potential to increase SOF capability, technical maturity, and relevance to military operations.
  • Costs: Invited respondents are responsible for their own submission costs, travel, and experimentation expenses. USSOCOM will provide venues, supporting infrastructure, and assessment personnel.
