Scope of Work
The selected vessel will support two scientific missions:
- Deployment Mission: Tentatively August 13–18, 2026, to deploy one wave glider.
- Retrieval Mission: Tentatively September 21–25, 2026, to retrieve one transponder and the wave glider. Mobilization and demobilization will occur in Eureka, California.
Vessel Requirements
The vessel must be at least 78 feet overall length (revised from 90 feet) and licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard. Key equipment includes an A-frame (3,500 lbs SWL), winch (3,500 lbs SWL), a minimum 400 sq ft working deck, and a crane (1,000 lbs SWL). While a 20-knot cruising speed is preferred, exceptions will be considered if the Offeror can demonstrate mission completion within specified timeframes (Mission 1 in 4 hours, Mission 2 in 24 hours). The vessel must accommodate up to eight personnel, provide three meals per day, and have a captain with at least four years of experience in the Pacific.
