Quick Summary
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a Sources Sought to identify vendors capable of providing VHF/FM Radio Equipment, Software, & Associated Support Services. This effort supports the migration of existing radio systems to 12.5 kHz (narrowband) channel spacing for the FAA's Command and Control Communications (C3) Division and the NAS Recovery Communications (RCOM) program. The FAA anticipates awarding an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract. Responses are due July 6, 2026.

This market survey aims to identify qualified vendors to ensure survivable, secure, and redundant command and control communications for the FAA, enabling emergency response and continuity of operations. It specifically addresses the NTIA mandate to transition to 12.5 kHz narrowband channel spacing.
Scope of Work
The anticipated IDIQ contract will cover the procurement of radio equipment, maintenance services, software (updates and licensing), and other necessary components for installation, operation, and maintenance. Key requirements include:
- Procurement of Motorola Land Mobile Radio (LMR) equipment (repeaters, handheld radios, base stations, programming hardware).
- Procurement of related VHF/FM radio components (antennas, cables, charging systems).
- Provision of detailed product specification sheets and maintenance agreements.
- Provision of Motorola software and test equipment for LMR.
- Accurate tracking of equipment, warranties, and maintenance agreements.
- Technical support and installation services at FAA-specified locations.
