Quick Summary
The United States Air Force, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio, is conducting market research for a Vibration Test System for the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). This is a Sources Sought notice to identify potential sources, including small businesses, capable of providing the required system. Capabilities packages are due by January 26, 2026, 12:00 PM EST.
Purpose & Scope
This market research aims to identify firms capable of delivering a Vibration Test System for environmental testing of spacecraft components and research. The system must simulate launch environments and assess component durability. Key requirements include a slip table (at least 30x30 inches), a shaker with a minimum 29 kN load capacity and 20Hz to 2,000Hz frequency response, a control system with programmable profiles (sine sweep, random, shock), and a data collection system with at least 8 accelerometer input channels. The system requires NIST calibration, digital drive signals, and 32-bit or higher resolution Digital to Analog Conversion.
Key Requirements & Deliverables
The contractor will be responsible for procurement, on-site setup, and installation of the system. On-site training for a minimum of two AFIT/ENY technicians is required. All components must fit through a 60-inch wide, 78-inch tall doorway. Products must be manufactured in a qualifying country per DFARS 225.872, include a manufacturer's warranty, and shipping costs (including insurance) must be covered. Delivery is required no later than 12 weeks after contract award to AFIT/ENY, WPAFB OH.
