Quick Summary

The Department of the Army, Louisville District, is hosting a Virtual Industry Day on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time, for the ERCIP Fort Sill Microgrid project. This event will provide information on the upcoming Design-Bid-Build (D/B/B) construction of a power generation and smart microgrid system at Fort Sill, OK. The project aims to provide critical energy resilience for the installation. Registration is required by March 13, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. Eastern Time.

Project Scope

The project involves the D/B/B construction of a power generation and smart microgrid system. The base scope includes a 10.3MW natural gas reciprocating internal combustion engine (RICE) power plant, complete with a compressed air starting system, distribution feeders, paralleling switchgear, transformer, protective relays, SCADA system, and microgrid controls. This system is designed to provide at least 14 days of energy resilience to mission-critical functions at Fort Sill, utilizing fossil fuel. It will be capable of connecting to and disconnecting from the electric utility grid, islanding the installation, and shedding non-critical loads.

Bid Options include:

  • Option 1: Expanding the RICE power plant to 18.0 MW (using two 9.0 MW generators).
  • Options 2 & 3: Adding 2 MW/MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) each.
